Anonymous asked: Do you think Cannon Rebel t3i it's a good camera for photographers?

Sure, rebels are a great start-up camera. I’ve had two rebels, a 40D, and now the 7D. With time you’ll continue to upgrade. Start with the rebel, and INVEST in some good lenses. The Canon 50 mm f/1.8 is around $120, practically a “must-have” lens that’s incredibly cheap.

October 27, 2004 - May 12, 2012

Dear DGE Family:

I am incredibly grateful to have been apart of something special that has been DGE Concerts for the past 8 years. Having the opportunity to host live concerts alongside one of my best friends in this special community of South Texas has certainly shaped my journey in life, which began on October 27, 2004 with 150 fans at a small club in downtown McAllen.

At this present time, I have decided to respectfully depart from DGE Concerts to pursue other career and project interests. This was obviously a difficult decision, wrestled with over the last 2 years and particularly over recent months. But with the decision made, I have the opportunity to thank you all one last time and bring a happy close to this chapter of my life.

To this day, I’ve always said that DGE Concerts, above all else, has always been a hobby, having the wonderful opportunity to work in the music industry along with my “real” jobs and school has kept me incredibly busy for the past 8 years. Working with Geo and the incredible support staff such as Lisa, Abe, Doug, Aaron and so many others has been a true blessing; we’ve all traveled through our ups and downs in a way that will be a part of our lives forever.

Given this change in DGE Concerts, I’d like to alleviate your concerns of it’s existence; more-so, what you can expect to see. Geo WILL continue to run its operations, and I WILL continue to work in the music industry and help him with booking/marketing as many concerts as he and other promoters want for McAllen. I’ve always had my hands in hundreds of events in South Texas, even some that weren’t DGE’s (spring break concerts, city-sponsored events, college events, exclusive parties, etc). So don’t fret, DGE Concerts and Geo will continue to throw ridiculous concerts and parties, and I’ll continue to do what I’m privileged to do and remain behind the curtain.

Thanks again to everyone who’s been a part of this amazing journey with me! It’s been an incredible privilege to be apart of something special.

xoxo

I’ve known Charlie Vela since back in the day when he used to rock the drums with .thedecember drive, one of the valley’s first pioneering indie rock bands, maybe much longer than that, even I forget. Since then, he’s been engineering and producing for some great regional and national talent out of his makeshift studios at home. Recently he called me up to check out his new workplace in Edinburg alongside Roli, a producer who’s been in the business for quite some time in Spanish rock bands as well as a music engineer. WOW. The smell of fresh-scented wood enters your nostrils as you walk in, and you can’t help but enjoy every single whiff, much less the awe-inspiring beauty you instantly surround yourself with. Bands and artists interested in some serious studio time with some talented engineers and producers, there’s no other place like this south of Austin. Here’s a few photos I took to get them an early start with their marketing campaign.
